One of the comments made in that video is that the FT-DX10's A/D is "audio grade" as opposed to the "much more expensive A/D" in the 710. I'm still puzzled over the advantage of one technology over the other. The DX10 seems to be the better radio now, but perhaps a firmware update in the 710 could really make it awesome. YAESU is about to introduce a new transceiver – the FT-710. It will cover 160-6m with 100w output. The FT-710M and FT-710S are the 50 and 10 watt versions of this new radio. The first 5 hands-on videos are already shot. The first hands-on video, #9, is already public. It covers the unboxing and initial setup. I already miss the FTdx10. The controls might be cramped but I don’t go to a menu ... The dials are in better places now on the 710, for example. I like my FTDX10 but don't use all the features and wish it had better ergonomics, and was a bit cheaper. So the 710 sounds good. At least as good as a 7300. It's no hybrid but it is a newer SDR design. Only downside is Icom have superior menus in my opinion.
