Feb 23, 2009 · AKM/AK-74 TYPE 2. AK74 "6X5" TYPE - This is an example of an Iraqi contract bayonet made by Arsenal, Bulgaria for issue with the new AKM that was being issued to the Iraqi military. Note - hanger has a snap that is different than the Bulgarian AK-74 bayonet. -----EGYPTIAN. The 24 mm version should work with a bayonet. The 14 mm threaded one will be too long. Neither one of those will work with a bayonet on the AKM. The 74 has thr bayonet lug on the front sight block. The AKM does not. East German AK-74 30rd Magazine, 5.45x39, Bakelite, *Good*Feb 9, 2006 · The DDR's bayonets mirror the evolution of Soviet bayonets, except that they never produced the late AK-74 "spearpoint" type. For East German milled receiver AK's, built under license from 1959 to 1965. "Bakelite" grip, steel sheath with rubber insulator. Used for the stamped-receiver East German AK's from 1965 until 1979. The type two bayonet is also the last version of 6×4 AK bayonets made by TOZ. The reason is that in 1981, Tula plant ceased the production of AK-74 rifles to start making AKS-74Us (Krinkovs) which were not supposed to have bayonets. Later versions of the 6×4 bayonet were made by IzhMash only. 6X4 Type 3 (1983-1986).
